The Oxford Curriculum
Our Approach
Oxford Academy recognizes the first years of a child’s development are the most critical for formulating a solid foundation. That’s why our approach to teaching and learning is built on the idea that real learning can’t be dictated, but will develop naturally in a carefully planned environment with experienced teachers who will guide and support your child along the way. We’re proud of our low student to teacher ratios, creating an environment of individualized learning and focused attention.
Abeka Program
We encourage children’s natural desire to learn with the Abeka Book approach – a Christian-based curriculum rooted in rigorous primary research. Refined over 50 years by dedicated scholars grounded in the practical aspects of classroom education, the Abeka program is a leading academic program for Christian based schools throughout the country.
Holistic Learning
Our classrooms were designed to reflect our belief that children learn best by doing. Guided by teachers employing a developmentally holistic approach (supporting social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development), children choose their activities and learn through exploration and experimentation. In this way, children learn to think independently and have fun in the process!
High Standards
Oxford Academy takes great pride in providing the highest quality educational experience for our children. We follow and frequently exceed – the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), state researched and defined guidelines that establish what children should know and be able to do before entering kindergarten.
